Long Live film community
We're bringing film photographers together
For the past 14 years, we've watched incredible film photographers come through Indie Film Lab's doors—each with unique stories, challenges, and honestly... mind-blowing work. But here's what's always bothered us: you never get to meet each other. You're all shooting what you love, but doing it completely on your own.
We've been dreaming of replicating the community we felt at Long Live Film in-person retreats. That feeling of belonging that lasted long after everyone went home—we still get texts from people who met at those retreats years ago.
That's why we created Long Live Film Community.
It's not just another online forum. Our vision is a real community where film photographers can connect, learn, and grow together. We're building comprehensive education from film experts, a supportive community at all skill levels, direct access to the Indie Film Lab team, interactive workshops, and creative projects.
We want to build this community WITH you, not just for you.

Keep film alive—not just as a medium, but as a movement.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS HERe
We’re building a legit space for film photographers to actually learn, ask questions, share work, and get better together. No noise, no algorithms, just people who love film.

We hop on live and show you what's going on inside the lab—answer questions, troubleshoot, whatever you need.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

Frequently Asked Questions
-
This isn't just another place to post photos. We're building structured education, direct lab access, and genuine connections. We're investing in real teaching—from technical workshops to panel discussions with working photographers who actually share their process. No more scrolling through conflicting advice or "just shoot Portra" comments.
-
Absolutely not! We've structured everything to support photographers at every level. If you're loading your first roll, you'll find step-by-step guidance and a place where no question is "too basic." We remember what it's like to be beginners—we were all there once.
-
Every week! We follow a consistent schedule. Each month follows a theme that builds progressively throughout the year.
-
Nope. Whether you're shooting with a thrift store point-and-shoot or a Hasselblad, it's all welcome here. This community is about the craft and connection, not the price tag of your equipment. Some of our favorite images come from the simplest cameras.
-
Definitely. We have many pros in the community who use our technical sessions and lab access to refine their client work. The wholesale film access alone can offset your membership costs if you're shooting regularly.
-
Yes, there's no long-term commitment. However, if you do cancel, you'll lose your founding member rate permanently. If you decide to rejoin later, you'll need to sign up at whatever the current rate is at that time. But honestly, once you connect with the community and start saving on film through our wholesale access, we think you'll stick around.
